Notes from the Essex County Democratic Committee (ECDC) June 28 meeting.
Notes from the Wilmington July 1 Town Hall event held at the Upper Jay Art Center with Town Supervisor candidate Tim Follos (D), and Town Council candidates Laura Dreissigacker-Hooker (I), Randy Winch (I) and Wilmington native and current NYC Council Member Erik Bottcher (D-District 3). The next town hall event will be at Santa’s Workshop on July 30. We are exploring a joint Jay-Wilmington candidate forum.

Town of Wilmington update from Tim Follos and read by Pat Winch – Short Term Rentals! Councilmember Forbes recently resigned as deputy town supervisor, but he is still running for council this year. There will be a citizens’ town meeting on August 9, primarily to discuss short-term rentals, at the Wilmington town hall community center.
Town of Jay update: Jay Day is still on for Aug 19. We’ll host a table with materials from ECDC. Melinda and Sue offered to staff. Any others? (Update: Maggie Bartley, ECDC chair, is happy to provide a box of goodies for Jay Day.

Jay Candidate Forum will be in mid-October hosted by Wally Walters
Next JWDC meeting is proposed to be August 14 at 7pm at our new, permanent home at the Jay Community Center, 11 School Street, Au Sable Forks.
