Minutes of the Jay/Wilmington Democratic Committee

In attendance: Joe DeMarco, Marilou Dooley, Sue Gettens, Allen Fitz-Gerald, Melinda and Peter Beuf, Eliana Godoy, Frank and Sue Pagano, Knut and Marisol Sauer, Jody Hart, guests Holly Dixon, Michael Fergot, Hannah Giltner, and Matt Castelli (candidate for US Congress).

Meeting called to order at 7:02 pm

The first half of the meeting was turned over to Matt Castelli. He introduced himself, spoke about his campaign and answered questions from the committee.

Frank – Future JWDC meetings and proposed guests:

April 11 at Au Sable Acres Pavilion with guest Matt Purorti (candidate for US Congress)

May 9 tentatively at Santa’s Workshop with guest NY Assembly Member Billy Jones

June 13 tentatively at Jay Community Center

Knut – Review and approval of Treasurer’s report ($802.29 balance).

Knut – Town of Jay report. Much activity, AARCH presentation on establishing Au Sable Forks as a historical district. No recent activity on the proposed large development in Jay.

Eliana – Dollar General has abandoned plans to open a store in Wilmington.

Frank – ECDC Delegates. Marisol and Knut have petitioned for ED 1. There are two delegate openings for ED 2 and two delegate openings in Wilmington.

Marisol – Postcard project to reach out to newly registered Dems and blanks.

New business – general discussion. Resolved to table suggestion to ask a representative from the Stefanik campaign to be a guest speaker.

Next meeting: April 11 at 7 p.m., in person at the Acres Pavilion with guest speaker Matt Putorti.
