
Eliana is the Director of Advancement at Literacy Inc. In this role, she is responsible for leading the organization’s advocacy, communications and development efforts to end the literacy crisis in New York City. Passionate about supporting families and children affected by systemic poverty, Eliana brings years of experience in program design, evaluation, cultural organizing, and capacity building across a wide range of social issues, nationally and internationally.
Eliana received the Union Square Award, as well as the Catherine Reynolds Fellowship on Social Entrepreneurship in recognition for her cultural and community development work in New York City. She founded Art for Change at the intersection art and community organizing. Later, she began Carlitos Café y Galería as social venture and platform for Art for Change. These grass-roots institutions supported the civic engagement of families, local residents, and artists. The café became landmark destination for artists and activists and was featured on numerous media platforms.
